DALLAS, Texas (Feb. 15, 2005) -- As globalization in the 21^st century is making the notion of a global village a reality, businesses need to consider international partnerships in order to thrive in the marketplace. The United States and China, as the two largest economic powers in the Asia-Pacific, for example, have become closely connected in trade and business. Closer to home, China is Metroplex’s number one trading partner with over $7.16 billion as of third quarter 2004.

In order to pave the way for additional business relationships between the Dallas area and China, the Chinese Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), in collaboration with numerous organizations and education institutions, including American Chinese Federation of Industries and Commerce (ACFIC) and the University of Texas at Dallas, will hold The United States-Chinese Business Forum on March 14 at the Omni Hotel, located at 1590 LBJ Freeway. Registration for the Forum begins at 7:30 am and the meeting will begin at 8:30am. This exciting event will feature experts from the CCPIT, Ministry of Finance of China, the China Security Regulatory Commission and a delegation from the People’s Republic of China comprised of nearly 50 high-level individuals from private industry and governmental agencies.

“This is the first time CCPIT has brought such a large and distinguished delegation to southern US,” said Michael Chang, director of the CCPIT Dallas Office. “We hope this prominent forum will play a significant role and become a unique platform for promoting the cooperation, development and exchanges in a wide scale for companies in China and the Metroplex.”

Presentation topics will include “Protection of Intellectual Property in China”, “Issues of Security and Exchange in China” and “Issues facing the Ministry of Finance of China”.
